Statistically speaking it is the largest waterfall in the world due to the combination of width and height making it the largest single sheet of water. Known as Mosi-oa-Tunya meaning “smoke that thunders” and when you visit you will understand why.
- Enjoy wildlife viewing from the land and boat as you journey around Chobe National Park, known for having one of the largest elephant populations in Africa with an estimated 50,000 gentle giants congregating near the mighty Zambezi River.
Day 1: Victoria Falls
Situated in Victoria Falls town in Zimbabwe, the boutique Ilala Lodge is actually the closest hotel to Victoria Falls. A secluded setting overlooking green lawns (with periodic grazing wildlife) and the bordering lush National Park vegetation, Ilala Lodge has views of the “smoke” of Victoria Falls.
Ilala Lodge accommodation includes 32 rooms and two suites furnished with railway sleeper teak. With plenty of light from the patio doors, rooms lead onto either a communal garden or a balcony, where rooms on the upper level afford a view of the spray of the Falls. Standard in each room are two . beds, en-suite bathrooms with a shower, bath and bathroom amenities, air-conditioning, fan and tea and coffee facilities. Suites are larger and include a king size bed. With warm and elegant decoration evoking an era of early adventure, the main guest facilities include the a la carte Palm Restaurant and veranda which is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner; the Safari Salon, a swimming pool, terrace and bar and Wi-Fi.
From its prime location guests at Ilala Lodge can enjoy high adrenalin activities like bungee jumping and white water rafting, to scenic helicopter flights and interactive elephant back safaris.

Day 2: Tour of the Falls & Sunset Cruise
The Victoria Falls reaches its zenith in about May each year. It is a truly awe-inspiring experience – the sight, the sound, the smell and the humbling feeling that here indeed, is Natures Supreme Masterpiece. No photograph can begin to depict the reality and nothing prepares you for your first sight. This tour is conducted in the morning and afternoon and is 2 hours in duration. You will be accompanied through the Rainforest by a qualified Guide, who gives a brief history of the Falls and the surrounding flora, fauna, bird and wildlife. Raincoats and camera protective bags are provided when needed.

Sunset Cruise: Scheduled 2 Hours
This afternoon you are transferred to the jetty, where you board a comfortable vessel with plenty of seating, open sides and a canopied roof. From here you cruise along towards Palm lsland and Kandahar lsland to enjoy a picturesque African sunset on the Zambezi River. This cruise is a superb way to relax and enjoy the beauty of the River, with the opportunity to see a variety of game; including hippo, crocodile, elephant and many different bird species.

Day 3&4: Chobe National Park

Situated within the Chobe Forest Reserve on the quieter western side of Chobe National Park, is owner operated Muchenje Safari Lodge. Sitting high on the escarpment Muchenje’s elevated position offers extensive panoramic views over the Chobe River and Caprivi floodplain.
With just 10 comfortable standard cottages and one family cottage (sleeping four), Muchenje offers a friendly, intimate, home away from home atmosphere. The cottages have high thatched roofs, are built from stone and line the ridge, offering private panoramic views from the balcony. All the cottages are en-suite with a shower, double vanity and toilet; fans and 24 hour electricity. The main lodge is coolly set under thatch and shady trees and is open sided to make the most of the excellent views. There is a comfortable lounge leading to the dining area where buffet style meals are served; a viewing deck perfect for sundowners, reference library, small gym and large swimming pool with cool shady spots and deck chairs. Wi-Fi is available at the main lodge and around the pool.
Activities at Muchenje include early morning and afternoon game drives, full day game drives, bush game walks, “Night Eyes” game drive, Chobe River cruise and village visits.
NOTE: Muchenje is 50km from Kasane on a tar road. This same road is used for one way access into the Chobe National Park main gates for game drives and boat cruises.

Day 5: Kasane Airport
